I just received word that our Victory House, which houses our teachers, was broken into last night. The thieves used a pick axe to chop through Teacher Isaac’s door. Our Derrick Akampulira and Isaac’s nephew were staying in the front room, and held at knifepoint while the thieves tried to get into Isaac’s room. Isaac shouted for help, the other teachers came to their rescue, and the thieves ran away.
Herbert said they have tried to attack other units, but have been unable to gain entry until today.
We are thanking and praising God that no one was hurt, but they are all obviously traumatized.
Please pray for our teachers: Martin, Patrick, Sarah, Isaac, Diana, Frank, Suzan, Sylvia, Irene, Derrick. They are working so hard to educate, encourage, and help our children. We need them to be safe. We will be installing a fence around the property to restrict access, and looking for other ways that we can protect them. Also pray for our Derrick Akampulira, who has now been through another awful ordeal in his young life.
It’s a spiritual battle, my friends, and it’s a country full of desperate people. That’s why we are working so hard to give hope to the hopeless, and to give those who have nothing, a chance to succeed.
“The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life, of whom shall I be afraid? When evil men advance against me to devour my flesh, when my enemies and my foes attack me, they will stumble and fall. Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; even though war break out against me, even then will I be confident.”
Thank you so much for your prayers.
