Special Project: A House for Alvin and Alvic
Thank you so much for your prayers, your generous contributions, and your unwavering support as we determined to build a home for a very needy family. I am so excited to tell you that Alvin & Alvic and their momma have moved into their new home! Shown above are the "Before" and "After" pictures of the home.
Herbert and his team had a housewarming prayer and praise service at the new home, and fed 70 people! He said it was a wonderful time of prayer and testimonies. He also found out there that Alvin & Alvic’s late father actually came to Victory Covenant Church a few months before he died. There he gave his life to Christ, and his major prayer request was that God would heal him and somehow provide what he needed to build a house for his children. In the words of Herbert,“ I would say that God healed him by taking him to heaven, saved his wife (she has since given her life to the Lord), and provided a house for his children in a most amazing way.”
We have recently been able to provide their beds, a water system with holding tank, and even electricity for the home. Praise God! Please pray with us as we continue to intercede on behalf of our Ugandan families.

“Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress
and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world..” James 1:27 (NIV)
Global orphan facts: Total estimate of orphans worldwide…………153 million. (Source: U.S. Government “5th Annual Report to Congress on Public Law 109-95″ and affirmed by UNICEF) These numbers do not include an estimated 2-8 plus million orphans in institutions, living on the streets, exploited for labor, victims of trafficking, or participating in armed groups. 153 million plus 8 million…….. possibly totaling a potential of 161 million orphans worldwide?
Victory 1:27 was launched in response to very pressing needs expressed by Pastor Herbert Buyondo. The leadership team of Mountain View Chapel in Stanardsville, Virginia sensed that the scope of impact would be larger than just one location. The desire was to create a support network that would enable disadvantaged children and families to gain hope through daily victories of food, shelter, and education that would otherwise be impossible. The foundation was laid in Kampala, Uganda. Victory 1:27 began as a cooperative, non-denominational, Christian effort between Victory Covenant Church and MVC. Cooperative interaction is at the very heart of our outreach efforts. The ministry now has seeds of outreach in the United States, Ecuador, and the Dominican Republic.
When God opens a door, we do our best to respond to the need, regardless of the location.
Ugandan Orphan Estimates..................over 2 million
Ecuadorian Orphan Estimates............210,000
Dominican Republic Orphan Estimates...........116,000

“I always remember you in my heart and I pray for you every day. These are my verses, let’s share them together. Whenever you feel like saying “I’m tired” remember He says “I will give you rest” (Mt 11:28). Before you say “Its impossible” remember “all things are possible with Him” (Luke 18:27). Don’t say “I can not go on”, because He has said “My grace is sufficient for you” (2 Cor 12:9). When you feel like “I don’t know what to do”, He says “I will direct your steps” (Prov 3:5-6), so there’s no reason to give up. Lets move forward in Jesus name!” Joyce
